Northwest Pinball and Gameroom Show 2010 -
World Records set by both young, and old (schoolers !)

The NW Pinball and Gameroom Show that took place June 11-13 at the Seattle Center saw quite a few WR scores set by young, and old(er), alike.  Old-school gamer Perry Rodgers scored 1,238,110 on Popeye to defeat the previous score of 1,232,250 set by Steve Harris in 1983.  Dan Whitmarsh set a WR on Lunar Lander, with a score of 1,705 (and, he scored 1,775 during a home performance later in the month, plus has a 2075 currently pending!).

The youngest gamer to set a WR at the event was Jordan Vick, 16, who triumphed on the game Metal Slug X, with a final score of 1,286,660.  A WR on the Mario Bros. No POW Challenge, two player team track, was set by John Bartkiw and Ross Benziger, with a score of 418,870.  And, one more very noteworthy WR was the Punch-Out!! score achieved by Sean Sandnes - 18,999,970 points, which beat his own previous WR score of 17,175,730.

Congratulations to all of the gamers setting new world records at this event!

Admin: I broke out this post, and others that followed, to keep the original thread on topic.

Hey there, MDB.  Be sure to read the entire intro page.  You cannot be using anything but Internet Explorer, and it must not be version 7 or above.  Of course, a dedicated FTP client works perfectly, but most users don't have one, or know how to use it; thus, my instructions on using a browser.  If anyone needs to send files, and has trouble, PM me.

Edit:  Omitted unnecessary sentence (unnecessary due to split from another topic).

For me either... not that i need it at this time... just testing.
I have I.E. 6.0.2900.
Possibly a firewall issue?

I knew that, but haven't made that switch yet.  I was more expecting the Firefox/alternate browser fanatics to chime in. Grin

I agree - most have IE 7.  But, please understand that it's not an issue on my end - FTP is universal, and standard.  What's changed is IE's support of FTP, and signing onto FTP sites.  Apparently it's unsupported in IE 7 (and likely 8 too).

One popular stand-alone program is Cute FTP.  I may put this program up via a link in the near future, to accommodate those who have trouble with IE.  Also, I've been looking for 'drag and drop' or 'click here to upload files' Java scripts as an alternate way of sending files.  I know there's a couple of Java gods out there - send me the script / code if you got it !

I still have IE 6 on one of my PC's Grin
As to FTP programs, there's also FileZilla and SmartFTP (I've used both, but don't remember if one was better than the other, since I haven't used either in a long time)

FireFTP
http://fireftp.mozdev.org

FTP client Firefox extension, for those who don't want to install and maintain another app for infrequent FTP use.  I haven't tested it with CAGDC myself; I just use IE6 for FTP'ing to CAGDC since it's pretty infrequent.
