David Race(s) back to top of the Pac-Man charts

David Race is again on top, as far as the 'time' record on Pac-Man goes.  He beat his previous time of 3:41:22 H:M:S (made 08-11-2009) with a terrific mark of 3:34:08 H:M:S, set 02-11-2010.  The latest score also tops Rick Fothergill's mark of 3:35:43 H:M:S, set 10-14-2009.  Congrats go out to David, and we'll see if anyone can further lower the minutes on this title.

Phil, after his 401,130 world record at E-for-All

« Reply #1 on: June 17, 2009, 12:14:22 AM »

I had a great time at the NorthWest Gaming Show in Seattle. I went with Paul Dean we got there at 11.00 PM Fri.  Next day we went to show at 10.00. Saw Bill Carltons speak at 10.30 then went to play video games. I tried the Berzerk fast bullets and got 89,310 with a box pattern that didn't do too good. Played a lot of the other games. Also met a lot of new people and the organizer Scott Harold who like the Berzerk
game so much he had me sign it. At 8.00 Walter Day had the meeting for the Hall of Fame Awards. Me Paul Dean and Ben Falls went up in a group for the games Berzerk, Spyhunter and Moon Patrol. Next day played some more games and saw some of the sights in Seattle.

Roy told me to say "no comment".

I want to hang out with Paul Dean and Berzerk1 all the time now, those are two cool cats.

Here is Scott Safran's medallion hanging in my circa 1982 personal arcade.  It is being stored here while waiting for pick up from his sister.

Scott Safran (SAF) Asteroids 41,336,440 11-13-82 World's Record 53 hrs. 8 min.

http://spyhunter007.com/silco_west.htm

A snippet of the original T-bolt quote:
When I got the 'Asteroids' machine it was dead,

The board is Rev. 2 with no jumper wires or extra boards, the cabinet has the later coin door... Not like the Luner Lander type coin door... also has the G05-802 monitor.

Yes, The game is signed. Grin His signature is on the cardboard bezel with date, score, and length of time he played Shocked ...53 hours and 8 min. the side of the cab also has his score and his initials...The S.A.F. Someone had painted over that, but you can still see it. Tried removing the paint but didn't want to risk damaging the writing underneath.

The coin door still has the All-American Billiards and Shuffleboard Co. decal on it.

Thanks Tim!  That means *A LOT* to me, coming from you!

I hit another small milestone this last weekend at the NW Pinball and Gameroom Show.... I got to the split on my first man.... still nowhere near perfect, but I'm consistently in the 3.2M range in my full games now.

The game at Funspot was fun to watch.  There was a big string of levels at one point where he kept breaking pattern, but still managed to stay alive and collect all the keys!
