Got a question about a game setting, included in the following messages:

California Extreme 2009
July 11, 2009

Donkey Kong II: D2K: Jumpman Returns (Lives 4+1)

and

The difficulty settings and game playing rules involved in all

Is the 4+1 a typo? I don't know of any TG track for D2K that involves 4+1
(the original D2K track is 6+1, but they recently added a 3+1) Of course, I
don't know if TG was actually there or not "monitoring the performances"

That's right, No TG referee was there and this is not a TG Event and not a TG Track, however they support non affiliated high score events with posters, hot sauce, etc.

Ah ok, no prob. Paul, I was just curious Grin I'd never heard of 4+1 being used before, so I thought it was odd and may have been a typo. I noticed they always put that disclaimer at the bottom of all their posters. The local show here, they created some posters too and had the same message on it, even though nobody was there from TG. I wish I coulda competed in that, I might have had a chance looking at the top D2K score Smile

David Lougy, Paul Novaes and Michael Klug are all recipients of video game plaques for their high scores in the July 11, 2009 CAX Video Game High Score Contest.

The California Extreme Final Results of the July 11-12, 2009 Pinball Tournaments are as follows:

Tournaments:

Congratulations to all the winners of the pinball tournaments:

Solid State:
1.  Keith Elwin
2.  Andrei Massenkoff
3.  Jim Belsito

Modern:
1.  Keith Elwin
2.  Trent Augenstein
3.  Andrei Massenkoff

EM:
1.  Neil Shatz
2.  Andrei Massenkoff
3.  Gene Lewin

Casual Division:
1.  Ron Rezendes
2.  Neil Inn
3.  Mike Hafner

Three pinball tournaments are based on the eras of the games: modern (1990 to present), solid state (roughly 1975 to 1990), and electro-mechanical (roughly 1960 to 1975).

A fourth tournament is reserved for casual players only, players who have never won a prize in any previous pinball competitions.  This is a bonus division -- casual players are also eligible to win in any of the other three tournaments.

Keith Elwin, number one pinball player in the world, was the big winner, walking away from the modern and solid state tournaments with a couple of trophies and $1,290 in prizes. California Extreme gave away over $7,500 in cash and prizes, which was the highest yielding California Extreme Tournament to date.

Thank you.
