News: 26 year old Pac-Man Plus record broken... twice ! 26 years to the day, master gamer Aart van Vliet beat the long-standing world record, by Shannon Ryan, on Pac-Man Plus. His 2009 score of 3,456,560 points topped the former WR of 3,213,900, set way back on November 21, 1983. But, Aart wasn't done yet; three days later, he took his first man all the way to the splitscreen, and notched the topmost score ever (for any platform), making a superb mark of 3,481,980. He also missed only two items (both ghosts) that were made available to him, which is also a supreme feat. Congratulations on the incredible double world records, Aart, during your visit at the annual Funspot November gathering. - Mark A., Spring 2010 |
