News: Mark Kiehl takes back Donkey Kong Junior record On the most contested major classic title of the last few years, Mark Kiehl has once again set a new world record, beating the previous Donkey Kong Junior top score by Steve Wiebe. Mark made an incredible 1,253,000 points on March 4, 2010, eclipsing Steve's former record of 1,190,400, set just 3 weeks earlier. The record has changed hands multiple times recently, starting in August 2008 when Ike Hall topped both one million points, and Billy Mitchell's long-standing score from the 80's. Mark's current score is the second time he's beaten the world record, and it's also the fifth time a new record has appeared, starting with Ike's triumph two summers ago. - Mark A., Spring 2010 |
