Hank Chien claims Donkey Kong crown

Hank Chien of New York, New York has vaulted past the former 'Kings of Kong' Billy Mitchell and Steve Wiebe to set a new record on Donkey Kong with an amazing 1,061,700 points.  Hank's new top score beats Billy's record of 1,050,200 points set at a live event in Florida in July 2007.

With my seeming to have a little less time, the last few months, to be able to get around to all new posts, and the same being true for one or two of my mods, I've decided to expand the Junior Mod group, by... two !

Chris Mansfield (Sante on the forums) began posting regularly again later last year, and he was always a great moderator, so I wanted to have him back with the ability to help out with forums housekeeping (and all the other mod duties, of course), as he did so well in the past.  Also, I had been considering Brian Snapp (Snapp on these forums) for the last time a position needed filling, but decided to appoint John Marks, who has been a great addition.  Brian was right up there for topmost consideration, and therefore, his time has now come !

So, congrats go out to Chris and Brian, the two new Junior Mods, and thanks to you both for helping out with forums duties.  All you great moderators help keep things running smoothly, for sure, and especially so when I'm at an event !

In other words, all you guys (including Ben Falls, Mark Boolman, and John Marks) make up one hell of a... Mod Squad !!

Thanks Mark. Congrats to Chris as well..

Not that the forums suffered at all, but we get used to people being around here, and as silly as it seems, it's almost like a family.

I for one am glad that Chris is back to posting here..

Now, we need to get Ross back...

Thanks again!!!   Kiss

Thanks guys.  Smile  Although Mark's timing is impeccable.  Just as he was posting this my real estate agent was writing up my offer on a house in my neighborhood.  We submitted it yesterday and it was accepted 90 minutes later, so I'm probably gonna be crazy busy over the next 2-3 months.  Should be able to keep up here though.

I wonder if anyone picked up that you were emulating the song The Power, by the music group Snap (at least, I think that's what you were doing).  Except, it actually goes "I've got the power !".  Nonetheless, it's an appropriate song to quote, especially with the name of the group, and your name !  BTW, Snap's song Rhythm is a Dancer is much better, and it's probably the best trance dance song ever released...

Thanks Mark. Congrats to Chris as well..

You're quite welcome, and quite deserving, I think.  In case anyone wonders, some of the criteria that I look for in a mod is: time spent online; number of posts made; quality of posts; and signs that the person is willing to 'correct' the behavior of others, when they are violating the rules.

...so I'm probably gonna be crazy busy over the next 2-3 months.  Should be able to keep up here though.

Good luck with the move, Chris, and thanks for committing to checking in on the forums !  Oh, and when you get your home gameroom set up, be sure to post a few pics, to let us see !

I wasn't thinking about that, when I made the quote. I figured someone would remember the 80's "He-Man and The Master of The Universe" cartoon. That's what I was actually referencing, with my original post.

Good call on Snap though.

I've heard both songs by him, but being a stern old hardcore punk rock listener since it wasn't considered old, I tend to stray away from trance dance music.
