News: Ken House and Donald Hayes dig out a place in history It was long believed that scoring 5 million points on the Atari classic Dig Dug was impossible. But, in the Autumn of 2009, that barrier was actually surpassed twice, and in less than two weeks time. On October 25th, Donald Hayes of Windham, NH was the first player to dig beyond the perceived limit, with a final mark of 5,085,000 points. Refusing to put away his shovel, Ken House of Hillsboro, OR dug a bit deeper, and on November 4th, set the current WR score of 5,136,150 points. Congratulations to both Donald and Ken for their incredible performances on this major classic arcade title. - John M., Spring 2010 |
