Costanza Frogger record falls

With just the right amount of grease on the joystick, Donald Hayes has eclipsed George Costanza's fictional, and once thought impossible to reach, Frogger record of 860,630 from a 1998 Seinfeld episode.  Don scored an amazing 881,150 points using MAME on his PC.  Will history's first Frogger rollover at 1 million be far behind ??

Rob Mruczek called me yesterday to let me know to look out for a 'major' announcement that will likely first appear on the TG forums, then on the front page.  Both should happen tomorrow, April 2nd (he realized that announcing anything on the first would be met with skepticism !!).  I'd advise checking in just after midnight ET (Rob's in NYC), just to see if it's gone up.  Only one thing's for sure - he can't post in the range from 2 AM until 3AM...

I couldn't get much of any clue out of him, but, apparently, it's not about the book, so I'm guessing that it's some major change, in either personel, or policy.  So... we'll see.

Of course, it could merely be a new wr, but, I don't get the impression that that's what's going to happen.  In any case, we'll know for sure very soon...

Looks like poor old Roy has been topped.  I'll assume it was the Missile Command wr write-up.  Score was over 1.9mil on tgts.

It was indeed Tony 'TT'Temples score on MC.

I met TT at the CGEUK event last year, and he is a top guy. Watching him play the game from behind (obviously) was a nerve-wrecking experience , let me tell you. He failed then, but now has the glory.

I believe MDA, you have some pictures from the event, one of which was Tony playing MC? Make the scoop, and show the master playing said game, just to let fellow gamers what he looks like and stuff...

Cheers,

Hi Al.  I'm sure all regular forum members have already seen this link / announcement elsewhere, but just in case a guest 'surfs in' from Google or somewhere, I'll post the link to the CGEUK page I put up with your pics.  It's here, and both you and TT can be seen among the photos.  Thanks again for your contribution !   Grin
