One of the oldest emulation programs, and certainly the most well-known, MAME (which stands for multiple arcade machine emulator) was first released by Nicola Salmoria in early 1997, and emulated only a handful of arcade titles. As of 2007, it emulates over 6000, with about half of them being unique titles. |
