Challenge Arcade

Reading, PA

Challenge Arcade, located about an hour northwest of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, is an arcade without peers.  It features one of the largest classic game collections in the nation, and couples that with a number of newer, and very popular, titles (such as a version of DDR).  The owners, Joe LeVan, and wife Susan, started their Berkshire Mall location (located near Reading, in the town of Wyomissing) in 2004, and have steadily increased both their revenues, and player appreciation, since.

One way that the LeVans show their appreciation for players is in accommodating them.  If someone wants a game title, and they have it in their off-site location, then they'll likely bring it in.  Also, they have sponsored a number of contests to promote play on their titles, including DDR, and a few of the classics.  Also, they're hosting at least one event in 2008 that really caters to the serious classic gamer (see details below).

As of February 2007, the arcade features these games:

As of the date of this writing (June 2008), Challenge Arcade will be hosting a gaming event in September 2008.  Namely, it's the inaugural edition of World Record Weekend, and will feature both gamers going for world record scores, and marathoners going for... as long as they can play !!  More details will be forthcoming.
