Pro Putt Family Fun Center

Bloomington, IL

Pro Putt Family Fun Center, located in Bloomington, Illinois, is a unique arcade that features free play on all the games, and has family-friendly side attractions (like mini-golf, and redemption games).  It has one of the largest classic game collections in the nation (around 50 titles !!), and combines that with quite a number of newer 90's games (such as California Speed, Crisis Zone, and Tekken 2 & 3).  The owner, Mary Lou Nelson, started the location a few years ago, and has steadily increased its customer base with the unique 'play all you can for one fee' business model.

As of January 2008, the arcade features these games:

Classic video titles:  After Burner, Airwolf, Alpine Ski, Arkanoid, Asteroids, Bad Dudes, Battlezone, Capcom Bowling, Centipede (upright & cabaret), Championship Sprint, Choplifter, Crystal Castles, Dig Dug, Discs of Tron, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Junior, Donkey Kong 3, Frogger, Galaga, Golden Axe (regular & The Revenge of Death Adder), Gyruss (cocktail), Jail Break, Joust, Kangaroo, Last Duel, Max RPM, Mercs, Ms. Pac-Man (upright and cocktail), Namco Classic Collection Vol. 1 (Galaga, Xevious, Mappy), Ninja Gaiden, Rampart, Rally-X, RoadBlasters, Smash T.V., Space Invaders, Star Wars, Strata Bowling, Street Fighter II - Hyper Fighting, S.T.U.N. Runner, Super Hang-On, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Simpsons, Thunder Cross, Turbo, Vindicators, Wizard of Wor, Xenophobe, Xybots, Zaxxon (two uprights).

As of the date of this writing (February 2008), Pro Putt FFC will be hosting a gaming event in March 2008.  Namely, it's the third annual edition of the Classic Arcade Gaming (dot com) Tournament, and it is being co-organized by myself (Mark Alpiger), my web site (Classic Arcade Gaming), and Mary Lou Nelson, and Pro Putt FFC.  The dates are set for Friday, March 28th through Sunday, March 30th.  Unlike all other previous contests (other than previous CAGDC events !) where a set group of games was played to determine a winner, this contest will allow for a choice of game titles that each contestant chooses themselves !  In addition, there will be second, third, and fourth place prizes, to go along with the usual first place prize money.  Finally, I will allow popular titles to be in play, using a fair method to avoid a world-class gamer from decimating the field with numerous number one game scores that outclass the competition.  Not to worry, however - even such a player will still benefit from his skill level, while others won't be overly pushed down in their results.  All the details can be found here.

Now, please enjoy a pictorial view of the incredible games and layout at Pro Putt Family Fun Center via the pictures below.  Click on any thumbnail to bring up the full-size version, which will also allow you to proceed thru the entire set.  Thanks go to Mark Boolman, who photographed the gameroom in January 2008.
