Crystal Castles - the DVD

I am very excited to be able to offer this unique documentation of world-class Crystal Castles play, by both myself (Mark Alpiger), and my friend Frank Seay (the current world-record holder).  This is a quite historic release for two reasons; first, it is the first classic arcade gaming DVD to be marketed by a web site on the Internet; and second, it also contains nearly unheard-of footage.  Specifically, unlike almost every other gamer in the 80's, I was foresighted enough to document my skill on an arcade game using videotape, and Frank also made use of this on occasion.  To date, I've only been able to find one other player who took video of their world-class play on a game 'back in the day', so this DVD consists of some very rare footage, indeed.  Speaking of which, I culled some of the best segements, from about eight hours of play that was recorded back then, to put this DVD together.  Amazingly, even though it was taped two decades ago, the quality rivals anything I've ever seen, even from current-day players with more advanced, and higher resolution, equipment.

As you can see from the menu screen at bottom, there are six chapters that compose this DVD - the first two show off complete 890's games by both myself, and Frank, and then that's followed by an incredible 900,869 score made by Frank (albeit only partly - the tape ran out, and we lost most of the middle screens).  This particular one can be previewed on my 'Video highlights' page, if you want to see a sample (the DVD has much better detail and quality, of course).

In the final three segments: I show a few demos of CC tricks and bugs; then I try to play the fastest possible game I can (boy, do I get frustrated - the results, however, are hilarious !); and finally, to kind of mix things up a bit, I show off a few good levels, and replays, on the game Food Fight.

Note that there is both profanity, and some un-PC language, on many of these segments.  However, the effect is usually totally humorous, and may even be the best part of this presentation !  Each chapter varies in length, but averages just over 5 minutes.  The cost is $18, plus a $2 shipping fee, for a total of $20.

I first marketed this arcade DVD at the California Extreme 2004 show, where it sold quite well.  One buyer even made this unsolicited comment on his web site: "The DVD is great, by the way. You should buy it too."  So, take his advice, and click on a payment button below to send a secure payment via PayPal (using either a PayPal account, or your credit card, with no PayPal account needed).  For more information on my history of doing business (on the Internet, and in general), you can check out my PayPal page.  Also, be sure to also check out all of my gaming-related items here, including even more Crystal Castles goodies, plus: arcade game marquees, posters, and signs; a number of rare Twin Galaxies items; popular classic arcade titles for your PC; and, a whole lot more...
